Youngest ever Wallaby leaves the The Nest

Legendary Magpie player, the youngest Wallaby of all time, Brian Ford has passed away at the age of 72, after a long illness.  Brian was 18 years and 90 days of age when he played against the All Blacks in 1957 before retiring at the "ripe old age" of 20, to pursue his career in business.

The Ford family have a connection with Souths from the foundation of the club, with Brian's father, Monty being a former Club president.

Brian lost the love of his life, his wife Margaret, a few months ago and the Souths Rugby Community extends its deepest sympathy and condolences to all of Brian's family and friends.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend a celebration of Brian's life to be held at the Little Flower Catholic Church, First Avenue, Bongaree on Friday 11th November 2011 commencing at 10am.
