Not only does Souths Rugby Club play exciting Rugby but within the Community they are leaders as well. Annually, in conjunction with the Index Group and the Ross Maclean Fellowship, Souths holds a Sportsmans' Lunch to raise funds for the Queensland Brain Institute for research into Motor Neuron Disease, which claimed the life of Club Patron and major sponsor, Ross Maclean, in 2005. Souths is also a major contributor and supporter of the Salvation Army and their annual Red Shield Appeal. Within the local Community, Souths' facilities are provided for use by local schools and other sporting groups and the Clubhouse is a regular venue for Community Meetings. |
